Pakistan’s Best-Selling Cars List: March 2023 Sales Report

The Pakistani auto industry had a rough start in February 2023, but things turned positive in March. The month-over-month (MoM) sales figures for March increased by 54%, although there was a year-over-year (YoY) decrease of 66%. However, despite the industry’s difficulties, some carmakers were able to rebound and achieve good sales figures. So here we are with a list of Pakistan’s Best-selling cars of March.

Pak Suzuki Motor Company (PSMC) was one automaker that showed positive results. The company saw a boost in sales that helped it improve its monthly sales. Toyota Indus Motor Company (IMC) also witnessed a slight increase in sales. Unfortunately, Honda Atlas and Hyundai Nishat both experienced significant sales declines.

No. 5: Honda City

In March 2023, the list of Pakistan’s best-selling cars had a few surprises. The fifth position went to Honda City. The sixth-generation City has become Pakistan’s favorite new subcompact sedan. Honda Atlas sold 611 units of the City, making it the best-selling sedan for the company and the country.

No. 4: Toyota Corolla

In fourth place was the Toyota Corolla, one of Pakistan’s best-selling sedans, despite a significant increase in prices. Toyota sold 778 units of the Corolla last month, making it the fourth best-selling car in Pakistan, despite being a decade-old sedan with a starting price of Rs. 6.2 million.

No. 3: Suzuki Bolan

An unexpected entrant in third place was the Suzuki Bolan, an obsolete museum piece. In March, Suzuki sold 782 units of the Bolan, making it the third best-selling vehicle in Pakistan.

No. 2: Suzuki Swift

Second place went to the Suzuki Swift, which experienced a tremendous comeback in March, with over 1,200% growth in sales despite a huge price tag. Suzuki sold 877 units of the Swift, making it the second best-selling car in Pakistan for the month.

No. 1: Suzuki Alto

The top position went to the Suzuki Alto, which reclaimed its position as Pakistan’s best-selling car after two months of poor sales. In March, Suzuki sold 2,542 units of the Alto, achieving the month’s best sales figure for a single car by a significant margin.

Although the Pakistani auto industry still faces production shutdowns and operational issues, these sales figures are a positive sign for the industry. Suzuki’s sales figures, in particular, are impressive, but only time will tell if they can maintain their momentum heading into the future.
