Honda Crossroad, unfortunately, had a very short lifespan. The lifespan is divided into two parts, 1993-1998 and 2008-2010. The vehicle was originally a replacement of Honda HR-V in the Japanese market but gradually the car started to import in Pakistan. Even though the sales of Crossroad didn't touch the sky but it did pretty well in the Pakistani market. The Crossroad present in Pakistan is the reintroduced version. The vehicle accommodates seven passengers with three-row seats.
You can either purchase a 1.8L 140 hp engine or a 2.0L 150 hp engine. Both the engines have a standard 5-speed automatic transmission. The 2.0L Crossroad are fewer in number compared to the 1.8L version.
There is price variation found because of different models, variants and grades. Used Honda Crossroad couple of years old is going to cost around PKR 21 Lacs, however, climbing the years, the price revolves around PKR 25 Lacs.
Available variants are:
Honda Crossroad 1.8 L X Package
Honda Crossroad 1.8L
Honda Crossroad 1.8X
Honda Crossroad 2.0 XI
There is no direct competitor of Honda Crossroad in Pakistan. However, the nearest to compare even though the categories are different are Toyota Avanza and Suzuki APV. All three of them have the capacity to fit in seven passengers however Toyota Avanza and Suzuki APV are equipped with a 1.5L engine. The variant present in Pakistan has stability and traction control as well as ABS brakes. Crossroad is the first vehicle of Honda to have equipped with Hill-Start Assist, which transitory conserves brake pressure once the brake pedal is released when starting on a hill. Under normal driving conditions, the Crossroad behaves as an FWD vehicle.
The resale value of Crossroad has decreased compared to two-three years back. The vehicles present in the market are old, and the demand has dropped which has further worsened the resale value. A major reason found for the decrease in demand is because of the dead end in the production. Newer models are not going to come which demotivates the consumers, and they stop purchasing the old models too.
Crossroad is unfortunate to have its production stopped and just have one model present in the Pakistani market. Even though a 2.0L variant was present in the market but still people preferred 1.8L variants. Many people took it as an alternate of Honda Civic as it offered the same power but with more seating capacity and better room. The Hill-Start Assist system further encouraged people to purchase the vehicle as it was suitable for long and tiring journeys.
