The exterior of the 3rd Generation Nissan March features a fairly unique and distinctive design language. The front and houses curvy oval shaped upswept headlights, dual parallelogram styled grilles, dual air intakes and a flush bumper. The rear end houses low mounted stacked vertical taillights, a curved bumper and a standard case hatchback. The 5-door hatchback features identical styling apart from being slightly longer to accommodate the rear doors. The 2-door convertible features a longer body, a power retractable hardtop roof and flat rear end design. The 1st facelift variant features a new redesigned front grill with chrome accents, clear front indicator lamps, 15-inch wheel covers, body colored door mirrors and handles on the base variant as standard. The 2nd facelift variant featured redesigned more angular front headlights, a redesigned grill with chrome accents, a larger front bumper with triple slim narrow rectangular styled air intakes and dual circular fog lights. The rear end featured new clear taillights. The overall exterior of the 2002 Nissan March features distinctive styling that is able to stand out amongst its rivals.

The interior of 2002 Nissan March compromises of silver and black plastic trim pieces. The front and rear seats are covered in fabric. Standard features include power steering, power front windows, power lock doors, air conditioning, a stereo speaker audio system and a trip computer. Features on the higher end E variant included front fog lights and an upgraded stereo speaker system. The higher end S variant included rear power windows and Bluetooth connectivity on the stereo speaker audio system. Options include automatic climate control, satellite navigation, reversing camera, parking sensors, audible speed warning and cruise control. The overall interior of the 3rd Generation Nissan March features a good amount of interior space for a subcompact hatchback of its exterior dimensions, the 2-door convertible variant though lacks rear seat space.
