The 2nd Generation Daihatsu Charade was introduced in 1983. The 2nd Generation Charade is a front engine front wheel drive hatchback. The 2nd Generation Daihatsu Charade features a fairly boxy eighties design language. The front end houses trapezium headlights and a rectangular air intake. The rear end houses stacked rectangular taillights and a standard case hatchback. The 5-door hatchback variant features identical styling to the 3-door hatchback variant apart from being slightly longer to accommodate the rear doors. All variants of the Daihatsu Charade feature identical styling in every aspect. The overall exterior of the 2nd Generation Daihatsu Charade features a familiar design for a hatchback design in the early eighties.

The interior of the 2nd Generation Daihatsu Charade features the use of black plastic trim pieces. The front and rear seats are covered in fabric. Standard features include air conditioning and a stereo speaker system. The interior of the 2nd Generation Daihatsu Charade features a decent amount of interior space in the front but a below paramount of interior space in the rear particularly in the 3-door hatchback variant. All aspects of the car's interior controls are finished in black plastic and operated manually.
