Suzuki Baleno Overview

The 1st Generation Suzuki Baleno was introduced in 1998. The 1st Generation Baleno is a front engine, front wheel drive subcompact sedan. The 1st Generation Baleno received a facelift that improved the minimalistic and restrained looks of the pre-facelift model that the majority of the customers preferred. The 1st Generation Baleno is available in a total of 7 different variants including Gli, GXi, JXL, GL, JXR, Sport and GTi 1.6. Production of the Suzuki Baleno 1st Generation lasted for 8 years, the 1st generation Suzuki Baleno was available to purchase in the years 1998, 1999, 2000, 2001, 2002, 2003, 2004 and the year 2005. The price of the Suzuki Baleno 1998 was fairly competitive when compared to other models in the same class.


The 1st Generation Suzuki Baleno features a fairly restrained and minimalistic design language. The front end of the 1st Generation Suzuki Baleno features angular trapezium styled side swept headlights, a rectangular grille with a chrome accent and dual air intakes on the front bumper. The rear end houses angular trapezium styled taillights and an outward sticking rear bumper. The facelift Suzuki Baleno featured a series of cosmetic upgrades, the front end housed new sleek angular headlights, angular trapezium grille with a chrome accent and an outward sticking bumper. All variants of the Suzuki Baleno feature identical styling. The overall exterior of the Suzuki Baleno 1st Generation features a fairly restrained design language that is familiar for a sedan designed in the late nineties.


The interior of the 1st Generation Baleno compromises the use of dark grey plastic trim pieces. The front and rear seats are covered in fabric. Standard features include air conditioning, cup holders. Power lock doors, power steering, power windows, a stereo speaker system and a tachometer. The overall interior of the 1998 Baleno is quite spacious considering its external dimensions and can deliver a decent amount of comfort as well.
